material mastery

Our hands-on experience allows us to design donor recognition and storytelling systems that balance visual impact with durability, precision, and creative flexibility.

We work directly with materials throughout the design and fabrication process, developing a deep understanding of how they behave, respond, and can be manipulated beyond conventional applications. This allows us to push materials in thoughtful, nontraditional ways while maintaining control over performance and finish.

By testing, refining, and working hands-on, we can anticipate challenges, adjust techniques, and design systems that translate accurately from concept to finished installation.

At the core of our methodology lies an unwavering commitment to artistic ingenuity. We consistently infuse our projects with a level of artistry that elevates them beyond expectations. Whether pushing conceptual boundaries or refining meticulous design and crafting techniques, our philosophy centers on adding an extra layer of thoughtfulness and brilliance, visible throughout our work.

Acrylic

Acrylic provides clarity, consistency, and precision. We cut, engrave, and layer acrylic to create sharp edges, bright colors, and structural elements that integrate seamlessly with other materials.

Metals

We work with metals including aluminum, brass, steel, Corten, and copper for strength, refined finishes, and visual contrast. Metal can be engraved, brushed, or formed to support both structural elements and dimensional typography.

Woods

Wood brings warmth and texture. We use fine wood species selected to complement design intent, with finishes that highlight grain, tone, and tactile qualities in the overall installation.

Integrated sound & visual technology

When projects call for dynamic interaction, we collaborate with technical partners to integrate sound and visual elements into the design. These systems help extend storytelling in engaging ways that work with other materials.

LED Lighting & Design

LED lighting is used to highlight key content and enhance visual hierarchy. Whether backlit, side lit, or wash lighting, we plan light placement to support clarity and atmosphere without overwhelming the design.

RIGID SUBSTRATES

& INTERCHANGABLE PANELS

history wall with images and written content

Rigid substrates and removable panels provide sturdy, updatable surfaces for graphics and content. These systems make it easy to refresh or expand donor recognition without altering the entire structure.

Archival printed

inks & canvases

Archival inks and canvases are used for high-quality, durable printed graphics. These materials retain color integrity over time and help present imagery and text with clarity.

Magnets &

Fasteners

Hidden magnets and fasteners secure components while preserving clean surfaces. These details allow flexible updates and adjustments without visible hardware disrupting the design.

Botanical elements

& Greenery

We incorporate relevant objects, botanical elements, and greenery when appropriate to support context or history. These additions enhance storytelling and connect installations to place and meaning.

Fibers &

Textiles

Fibers and textiles bring softness and tactility. Though they require thoughtful detailing to ensure durability, we include them when they support narrative or visual texture in select designs.

Papers

Papers can add rich texture and storytelling layers. When they’re part of a design, we use methods — such as embedding or protective finishes — that help balance tactile quality with durability.
