HOSPITALITY ENVIRONMENT
As part of an ongoing partnership with the Fireside Theatre, Spolar Studio was tasked with reimagining the Bar + Lounge into a destination experience that complemented the venue's established reputation for hospitality, dining, and entertainment. The goal was to transform an aging space into a sophisticated lounge environment that would encourage guests to linger, gather, and enjoy the atmosphere before and after performances.
A Phased Transformation
The transformation of the Fireside Theatre Lounge occurred over several phases, each building upon the last to create a cohesive guest experience.
The project began with enhancements to the pond feature surrounding the fireplace near the front desk, elevating the arrival experience for guests. From there, Spolar Studio developed a large-scale dimensional mural with integrated lighting that wraps the perimeter of the upper lounge, establishing a dramatic visual identity for the space.
The next phase reimagined the stone wall separating the upper and lower lounge levels through the addition of a custom metal façade featuring illuminated resin elements and a glowing lava-inspired detail. The final phase introduced a series of suspended skylight fixtures spanning the lounge, bringing light, dimension, and a sense of atmosphere to the environment.
Together, these interventions transformed the Bar + Lounge into an immersive destination that complements the Fireside Theatre experience.
The Challenge
The Fireside Theatre sought to elevate the guest experience within its Bar + Lounge while building upon the character and atmosphere that visitors had come to know over the years. Rather than undertaking a single large-scale renovation, the transformation occurred over multiple phases, allowing the space to evolve thoughtfully while remaining operational.
The Result
The completed Bar + Lounge feels entirely transformed—an immersive environment where architecture, lighting, artwork, and fabrication work together to create a memorable guest experience. The project continues Spolar Studio's long-standing relationship with the Fireside Theatre, helping shape another distinctive destination within a property known for creating unique and engaging environments.
